Sebastião Salgado

What makes a great photo journalists? A great photojournalists take photos that show emotion. Sebastião Salgado has a long and successful career as a photojournalists. Salgado has taken many great photos but also helps people around the world. Throughout his carrer as a photojournalist he has taken many pictures of wildlife, war, and peoples culture. Salgado impacts the world by taking photos of people who are literally starving to death.
Sebastião Salgado was born in February 8, 1944. Salgado helps people through out the world because he is the Goodwill Ambassador since 2001. He has won 11 awards in his career. The most important award he has won in his lifetime is the Royal Photographic Society's Award.  Most of his work captures all the harsh problems society's encounter.

Sebastião Salgado has a long career as a photojournalist. After seeing his work I noticed he likes to take photos on wildlife. He also takes photos of major problems like oil and hunger. Not are only those great subjects to take photos of, but Salgado also takes pictures of cultural aspects of the world. He truly is one of the greatest photojournalists alive.

Salgado impacts the world by capturing interesting moments like the one above. These two oil workers are full of oil and look like they really despise their job. He impacts the world by making every photo he takes memorable. Salgado has helped the world in over 100 countries.  His photos capture moments that are hard to talk to people about.

Salgado makes huge impacts with his photos. He makes all of them memorable. He clearly only uses black and white photos. He is changing the world with a few photos he has taken. Who knew you only needed a camera to change the world.

Lamp Design Artist Statement

During product design I have been working on a lamp that is like no other. This lamp has large majestic leafs that give any room a better design. But before building this lamp I had to do some research. For my research I had  to pin 30 pictures of lamps on Pinterest. After evaluating  30 lamps I noticed that most lamps didn't look like trees. I decided to design a lamp  to look like a tree. The Tree Lamp has three leafs on top. The rest of the leafs are tied by a thin string. The objective of this outstanding lamp is to light up a dark room. The Tree Lamp is intended for children ages 3-14. This lamp  was created with paper mâché  and  and painted with acrylic paint. This lamp was destined to be in a comer of a room. If I ever did the same project again I would add more detail to make it look more realistic. One negative thing about building this specific lamp is the ballons were of poor quality and I had to keep restarting my leafs  because of this my leafs aren't smooth as they should have been. This project  has taken me one month to accomplish.  Although I am very proud I feel like I could have done a better job making the leafs a lot smoother.

Cultural Extinction

The artist statement is one of the most important parts of your artwork. The idea of this piece of art is to prove cultural extinction. The definition of cultural extinction is something that no longer exists from certain cultures like languages and traditions. Like every project it comes with its success and it's failures. I'm very proud of this project because not only was turned in on time but it looked better than the first.
When starting this project I knew it was going to be difficult. When envisioning the project I was already confused because I was having trouble creating ideas for cultural extinction. When having a group conversation with class. In my mind I suddenly remember all the fun memories I had at Six Flags as a little kid. This art project is is cultural extinction because it was a family tradition to buy a season pass every year just to see batman and the looney tune shows. Without this tradition I wouldn't  remember the loud boom of two face falling into the dumpster or the clown that stole batman's batmobil.
When creating this project I had multiple challenges. One, would be having to restart due to a messy painting job. Another, would be starting from scratch two days before the due date. With failures came great success. By this I mean it looked much nicer because the flags were now paper instead of paint. Not only was it much cleaner but looked like the actual logo from Six Flags. Every time I now see this my inner child will be set free.
